ABOUT DR. JOE WAGNER
Dr Joe Wagner is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist who has founded Lumena.
Joe has completed his doctoral training at The University of Queensland. Over the last two decades, Joe has worked with people from all stages of the lifespan in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, private practice, rehabilitation units, and forensic environments.
In his private practice, Joe integrates years of research in ADHD with extensive clinical experience to offer expert clinical and neuropsychological assessment and treatment for patients with ADHD, Autism, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and brain injuries.
Joe has a particular interest in working with people with ADHD. He works with children and adults with a range of attention problems, study difficulties, learning disorders and people who are exceptionally intelligent. Joe also has a long-standing interest in conducting research. He has previously worked at The Queensland Brain Institute within the Cognitive Neurosciences lab where he researched ADHD under the supervision of Professor Mark Bellgrove. Professor Bellgrove is a leading ADHD researcher who has founded the Australian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA) and led the development of the Australian evidence-based clinical practice guideline for ADHD.
Joe is extensively published, having co-authored numerous journal articles in the areas of neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and molecular genetics of ADHD. Joe is also passionate about conducting clinical and neuropsychological assessments and interventions via telehealth. In 2015, he worked on a research project and has co-authored an article based on his work providing memory rehabilitation to patients with an acquired brain injury over Skype.
