Child and Teen ADHD Assessment in Brisbane
Child and Teen ADHD Assessment
ADHD in children and teenagers can appear as difficulties with attention, impulsivity, emotional regulation, organisation, learning or behaviour. Presentations vary widely, and concerns may overlap with anxiety, learning disorders, autism or other developmental factors. A careful assessment helps clarify what is contributing to a young person’s difficulties.
What the assessment considers
Lumena Clinic provides comprehensive ADHD assessments for children and adolescents in Spring Hill, Brisbane. The process considers developmental history, functioning at home and school, cognitive and learning strengths, attention and executive functioning, emotional wellbeing and relevant co-occurring conditions.
What families can expect
Assessment begins with a detailed clinical interview. Depending on the referral question, it may include validated questionnaires, cognitive or neuropsychological measures, school information and input from parents, caregivers or teachers. The approach is tailored to the child’s age and individual circumstances.
Feedback and recommendations
Families receive clear feedback and practical recommendations. These may address learning, classroom supports, routines, emotional regulation, parenting strategies and coordination with schools, GPs, paediatricians or other treating professionals.
